Middle School empowers learners to think critically, collaborate deeply, and step forward as emerging leaders.

The Sterling Montessori Middle School program serves students in Grades 7 and 8, guiding them through one of the most transformative stages of development—the journey from childhood to young adulthood.

Our goal is to help adolescents discover their place in society by nurturing their intellect, creativity, and moral awareness. Students engage in meaningful work, service learning, and collaborative experiences that encourage critical thinking, empathy, and self-discipline.

Through a carefully prepared environment and strong teacher-student relationships, Sterling’s Middle School empowers students to become responsible, engaged citizens and lifelong learners.

To Meet These Needs, Our Program Provides Opportunities For:

  • Independence and responsibility
  • Community and belonging
  • Adaptability and problem-solving
  • Self-expression and creativity
  • Reflection and feedback
  • Voice, choice, and respect
“The reform of the secondary school may not solve all the problems of our times, but it is certainly a necessary step, and a practical, though limited, contribution to an urgently needed reconstruction of society.”
- Dr. Maria Montessori
